What is two-factor authentication (2FA)?
2FA is a method of determining the authenticity of a user; it requires the user to pass two degrees of protection. This is an additional level of security, which ensures that only you can access your account. 2FA generates new one-time passwords that you receive on your mobile device through a special Google Authenticator application. You can download it in Playmarket or in Appstore.
How to enable 2FA?
You can enable 2FA in the Profile Settings section at the bottom by clicking the Enable button. A QR-code will the appear in the pop-up window, which you will need to scan through the Google Authenticator application and enter the 6-digit code that will be displayed in this application. After that, you need to wait for a letter to your email. Activation of 2FA is completed only after clicking on the link from the letter. In addition to this, we strongly recommend that you record a backup secret key.
How to record a backup secret key 2FA?
When you turn on 2FA, the private key is displayed below the QR code as a 32-bit number. It is highly recommended that you record and store it in a safe place. You can also click on the image of the QR code and print it. After that, you can turn on 2FA from another gadget with a secret key in case of damage or loss of your device. If you did not write down your private key when you turned on 2FA authentication, then you need to disable 2FA and write down the secret key as described above when you turn it back on.
